Because the hyoomin race is so very diverse a particular individual may have any balance of Anthroid and Animal Traits may be selected as long as you have at least one Animal Trait for every two Anthroid Traits
(Emphasis added)
You are more than good. These rules are to make sure people are sufficiently true to their animal sides and not just hyoomins with animal ears. The assumption is that we all know about hyoomins, we want people to get to know thier animal and alien side, since each person is a defferent animal, the close you are to your animal side the more interesting and distinct you will be from other characters.
You have 5 or maybe 5 1/2 Anthro traits (It applies to species so Breasts are applicable)
So for every 2 Anthro traits you need one animal trait, so that is 2 1/2 or 3 animal triats... You have seven or eight. So you are more than animal enough.
For Terran Furries, it's really hard to run afoul of these rules, there are only 8 Anthro traits, if you have all of them, and you take the 4 highly recommended Animal traits, you cleared the hurdle. But feel free to have as many Animal traits as you like. We encourage it actually, and aliens should have as many alien traits as they like. Animal and Alien traits, as well as any Anthro traits you lack can add a depth to a character.
I hope this helps clarify the point of this exercise.
As an example, Whitefangs ( a rather feral species of wolves in the Klingon empire) are a rather extreme example having 5 Anthro traits, 9 Animal traits and 6 Alien Traits. They easily leap over the minimums for Furry Aliens, with only five Anthro traits they technically only need 2 1/2 Animal traits (though 4 is still recommended) and 5 total between Animal and Alien.
