The following communication was sent inworld as a notecard to all members of the Trekfur group.

Your comm terminal beeps, indicating a message has arrived for you.

Comm Message From:
  Leonard Churchill, Chief Engineer, USS Deliverance, Excelsior-class Cruiser, NCC-14352
Security Level:
  All Crew
Message begins...

Greetings Crewbeing,

=======
NEWS:
=======

1) This is to notify you that there will be an informal gathering of all crew of the USS Deliverance at coordinates Daphnis 110,194,49  on Sunday, 6/11 at 13:30 SLT.  During this gathering, you will have an opportunity to talk to other crew as well as the officers.  Again, this is informal, not in character.
SLURL

If you have friends who are interested, please feel free to invite them.  We will be adding an event to the SL Events calendar.  We will send out a reminder about the meeting just before it commences.  If you log in later, please feel free to still attend.
Event

Discussions will likely include:
  a) good times to schedule play
  b) possible ideas for roleplay
  c) friending left and right

2) The ship is mostly done, and we are seeking a home for it.  It is really an awesome build, you will feel immersed as you transport aboard!  If you have a resource/land owner who can provide about 700 prims of storage (ship will be at 600m, so invisible to most), please contact Kijara Solzhenitsyn.

=======
ORDERS:
=======

3) You are hereby directed to get registered on the group website at:
  http://forrester.lonaf.com/phpBB2/index.php
This is where we'll keep track of story, ideas and just yap ooc.  In the future, all group communications will be managed out game.

4) Character bios need to be completed and posted!  Everyone should have received in game SL communications already (via group poll) to get going on their character bios and get them posted on the website.  It is the intention of the officers to use this as a gauge of sincere interest and follow thru to be in the Trekfur group.

There are some examples already online.

5) Questions!  Best place for these is the forum.  Otherwise, feel free to IM myself or any officer.

This message was also sent ingame to all recorded group members via inventory drop of notecard.

Thanks to Aspera and Kijara for joining me during this first gathering.  We met a few interested potential crewmates during this conference and continued to express our plan to launch an all-furry crew to adventure!

I took care of compensating the land owner group for the use of the meeting space (hope nobody else did!).

I know and completely recognize that this meeting came up fast and that the crew really didn't get much advance notice (3 days).  That said, I can also see that several of you did get the message ingame... and either were not able to attend, or chose to ignore it.

If you ignored it, the following 2 paragraphs are for you.

It may seem an obvious statement: Groups that have fun communicate with each other.  We share our goals and our entertainment ideas with each other.  Sometimes, these connections go deeper and RL friendships develop.  But no matter what the varying agendas of the player, commitment to the group is very important.

When a meeting is scheduled, group members are expected to be there or explain why they cannot.  I don't think that I (please note, this is Leo, not Kijara and Aspera saying this) am too hardline about this.  If you are serious about being involved, you need to show that with some commitment.

Welcome back to the main message. =)

I am already planning another meeting for late June.  By this time, we should have the ship logistics completed and ready to start.  I would appreciate folks IM'ing me about scheduling conflicts for 6/24-6/25, and 7/1-7/2.  I'd like to have to have the meeting when everyone can make it.

I'm off to sickbay for a tranq.

We are not saying you have to do anything.   But the major roles on the bridge crew of the Deliverance are going to go the people who participate most and have the most fun doing it.   Always remember we are here to have fun.  To paraphrase a werewolf I know  "This is a game, if you are not having fun, you are playing it wrong."  KlingonGrin

The second attempt at a first meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 16th at 1:30 pm SLT.   Please let a Trek Fur group Officer (Kijara, Leonard or myself) know if you are unable to make it as there is still time to try to reshedule it.

    The place is to be announced, but we are hoping it will be aboard the USS Deliverance.  We'll send out TPs in game and beam any one aboard who wishes to attend.
