Short, not particularly athletic and somewhat underwhelming physically.

PERSONALITY AND TRAITS:
- General Overview
Amanda, against her better instincts, is a smartass. She doesn't intentionally try to be one, she just figures that any information on the subject at hand should be pertinent in a situation. This leads her to often rattle on at great lengths about seemingly tangential and unnecessary details. This eye for detail is of great help as a Science officer (specialising in Xenobiology and Anthropology) and (usually) helpful to her Captain, though it's a considerable strain on her social life.

In truth, part of her insecurity in her daily life comes from her background. With the difficulties that both her main cultures- the Jews and Skunks¹ had over the past centuries, she has something of a subconscious worry that it may happen again, so she needs to prove herself to be as useful as possible. She's also terrified of being singled out, positively or negatively, for either of these things. She'd like to just fade these parts of her into the background, but if a leopard can't change its spots, she doesn't have a hope in hell of changing her entire species. This desire not to be too good has often retarded her progress through the ranks, it's been said that if she was less worried about who she was and more focused on just doing a good job, she'd be one of the finest officers in the fleet. But she isn't, so she's stuck on an ageing Excelsior-class cruiser.
   

- Strengths and weaknesses
Amanda's main benefit is her superb and varied memory and analytical skills. She's not a Vulcan, and she's not as focussed as some captains would like, but she's got a wide variety of historical, scientific and sociological information stuck in her head. The problem is she doesn't want to be noticed for it. Physically, she's underwhelming, and her eyesight is poor compared to most predatory species (she wears contact lenses)
